The Bishop of Hexen is one of the most influential symphonic black metal acts out there, and The Death Masquerade is one of the premier developments in the scene. A mixture of overwhelming ambience, ballroom dance, and a truly evil atmosphere, Bishop of Hexen has truly mastered the art of developing a sound that sounds like the organized chaos of Hell's demons set loose upon the world, while also ensuring their sound has polish and organization that is almost unparalleled in the symphonic genre. americaneurosbmlover66613
Blown away. Every VS album is good. They've always been a strong band, but my favorite album from them is narrowly SWOA. After the long hiatus/apparent break-up I was sad. Once this album was announced, but with some original members not being present, I was very skeptical. The first single release didn't resonate with me...Now though...What a triumphant return. Incredible. Archmage Orladin
Another scorcher from the phenomenal one-man black metal outfit STARER, with mind-flaying riffs and eerie tremolo-picked melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 31, 2023
Aquilus took a decade off and came back like he never left! Bellum I is yet another piece of beautiful melodic black metal mixed with classical and folk that makes you wanna dance naked in a forest somewhere. The natural sounding production increases the atmosphere heavily. Griseus is a monumental black metal album for me but Bellum I isn't far behind. Can't wait for II! Ryan
